Enlisted members participating in the Air Force COOL program must meet the following eligibility requirements: Although the AF COOL program has expanded to allow Air and Space professionals to obtain unlimited credentials and licenses with their $4,500 cap, eligible members may attain only one credential at a time per category, i.e., Primary AFSC/Leadership, at AF expense. For more information, consult your AF COOL Credentialing Program Office (CPO) at the contact information listed below. AF COOL will pay for the exam(s), up to $500 for books, admin/application fees, and recertification fees necessary for that one credential. The maximum allowable lifetime benefit per airman is $4,500. Service members can still use DoD COOL to see how their job in the military relates to other military jobs and to federal civilian jobs, as well as to civilian occupations. Airmen can also search by civilian career area, credential name, and credentialing agency name. AF COOL provides a one-stop for airmen to explore credentials recognized by the civilian community that can enhance airmen’s current performance in their AF job as well help prepare for civilian employment. Airmen who fail their certification exam(s) are not eligible for retesting and cannot choose another certification until their updated grades for the previous exam(s) have been submitted. Once the AF COOL CPO receives your grades, they will email you to notify you that your educational goal has been completed and send you a voluntary End-of-Course Survey.
