Road to lake is beyond covered in snow. This trail is just amazing first real trail hiked in Colorado went more off the grid more toward the south west side total beautiful.
The trailhead at Loveland Pass for Mt. Grizzly is one of the most accessible 13er peak hikes near Denver. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. Loveland Pass used to be the only pathway to Denver over the divide. The entire hike, although it’s short, is absolutely breathtaking. Loveland was a U.S. railroad entrepreneur and businessman. The pass was named for William A.H. Loveland, the president of the Colorado Central Railroad. The road to the trail is easily missed from the highway but it’s so worth it to stop & do.
super easy walking trail- it's all about the scenery. Loveland Pass in the winter can be downright terrifying at times. Even without officially completing the loop, the views were incredible and worth the stop. The experience of using this road is very impressive. Approaching Loveland Pass from the west at Keystone Ski Area, you climb 8.7 miles to the top. We came up with our three daughters (8, 6, and 3 yo) and had a great time.
