The jane iredale foundation is a light-diffusing liquid serum which comes in a pump jar and almost feels like water when you apply it. For instance, take the brands Estée Lauder, Revlon, and Mary Kay, all brands whom claim that they are a “cruelty free” companies in the US, but sells in China, and therefore forfeits their moral and ethical rights to utilize that term.
I just thought as long as the ingredients were the same, it didn’t matter where they came from. For those who like a flawless coverage, you will get it with Jenni’s BB Cream recipe, 1:1, or slightly less oil to powder ratio.

The only down fall is I just bought bare minerals foundation and powder, which I’ve been using for years now, & I would rather use this makeup instead. For me, the coverage is so much better and I love the glow of the finish! Yikes! If the color is too yellow, add more red oxide. Quartz is also made from silica. You’ll find this powder covers most skin blemishes well, doesn’t highlight fine lines or wrinkles (because it doesn’t contain the talc that often settles into those areas found in many products) and doesn’t aggravate acne or skin sensitivities.

I feel like you would have to add A LOT more of the colored iron oxides just to get any kind of color. I checked my own stash to see that my blush, lipstick, mascara, brow gel, both bronzers and all my eyeshadow contain mica! There is a possibility that you could choose either zinc oxide or titanium dioxide for your recipe, but I haven’t tried it with just one. Taylor-Yikes!
