Long story short, the book was so bad I had no desire to watch the movie anymore. It was super fast paced and I ended up devouring it in one sitting. While I’ve certainly laughed harder at Mr. Bryson’s books, I don’t know if I’ve ever teared up while reading one, and I certainly did here, as Holland writes movingly about her mother and the experience of losing a parent.
