The Double builds with sinister suspense, yet never loses touch with its satirical undertones and darkly gothic atmosphere.

Admittedly I had a similar problem here as I did with The World's End of not quite sympathizing with the protagonist, but also like that film I couldn't resist the incredible attention to detail and effortless tonal control.
