This 2015 film has Susan Sarandon and Rose Byrne playing mother and daughter. I would definitely watch this movie again it was that good! An aging widow from New York City follows her daughter to Los Angeles in hopes of starting a new life after her husband passes away. The film constantly walks on a tightrope with slapstick chuckles on one side, and acute melancholy on the other. Lori, is shown to make a pilot episode for a television channel, which she uses to tell her own story. Well, it is, sort of -- but it is more about recovering from the deep grief of losing someone very important to you.
