If you're watching twitch in theater mode that will remove the followed list as well, there's a button to toggle it on/off on the bottom right of any stream that you mouse over. This doesn't mean the rules are always followed, but Twitch makes a valiant effort to uphold them. This was touched on earlier, but debating with a viewer is definitely bad news bears.

I can see which channels are live when I'm not logged in, but can't when I am. Thanks for trying to help, but it's nothing to do with it being too zoomed in because I can still see the area where the icons of the channels are meant to be, but it just shows the followed channels and online friends icons, but it doesnt actually show the followed channels just the heart icon.
