One day Max was walking he heard screaming a girl but he wanted to avoid it, but he couldn’t ignore it as easily as he wanted to so he went to see who was screaming and he saw a girl that was being bullied by boys that were going to throw her backpack. This is the dramatic, heart-wrenching tale of Max (from Freak the Mighty) and Worm, two outsiders who turn to each other for survival.
In Max The Mighty by Rodman Philbrick, Max, the main protagonist, travels with Worm, another main protagonist, to try and find Worm’s dad. Max's internal conflict is that he does not know if he is making the right decision splitting with Rachel due to that having a thousand dollars on his head.
