As the first book in the series I found it intriguing, the action and the suspense did not wait, we have the point of view of the two main protagonists and several mysteries to discover.

Great action on this book of a new series. So, what's this books about then? I won't give too much away although I will say there is a resolution to Carrows immediate problems. The dancing kettles and swimming pool potion pong detracted from the story. The loss of her friend, the only one she had, sent her to a search for answers that had her involved in a criminal mess worsening her situation. From there she ends up in another realm, within the the city of London. A murder, she soon finds out, she is too late to stop and one with a certain similarity to that of her friend! Ridiculous.
She lost her best friend to a murderer a year ago. This was a fun read! Carrow is drawn to the man, but he is also speaking to her. No depth, and FMC is a ditz. I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment!! What is even more encouraging though is the way these characters feel realistic and I'm enjoying the games they are playing.
