I think the joystick needs some modifications, as WoodSTokk is suggesting.
Just disappointed that FSX recognized the X52 Pro controller without doing a lot programming. This setting ("forced off") worked for me!! This joystick was build at a time where MIDI and USB are common and this joystick exist in 2 variants. Nothing with the joystick or the throttle. Back to Standard button doesnt work. Same here, at the first start of the game the X52 Pro worked and i can fly with it, but after a quit an restart all settings are gone.
For example, The Logitech program calls the throttle, "Throttle".

If you want more games, they have to be profitable which means you need new buyers which means you can't require a master in geekology to make the thing work.
